A Look Back at London Fashion Week

It's August already, and the months seem to be flashing by as quick as a Victoria cheong sell out dress.

What better way to take a look back on the year so far than reminiscing about our favourite event of the year - London Fashion Week ( any excuse to talk about it again!)

After our first London Fashion Week debut last year, we wanted to make sure this year's was bigger and better! If I do say so myself - I think we understood the assignment!

Victoria cheong is still a small family run business, and the family feel around it definitely makes us all that more passionate about putting on the best event possible. Afterall, it's not just about us showcasing our newest collection, it's also a chance to thank our customers for their support by giving them an evening they wont forget.

The excitement for us definitely begins as soon as we know we'll be making a London Fashion Week appearance, and it doesn't seem to dwindle -I still get excited and so proud even now! There were definitely sleepless nights making sure everything goes perfectly - and they were so worth it!

I decided to travel up to London the night before the event - any excuse to spend a little more time in London! The weather was on our side and I had a little stroll through London the next morning, still pinching myself a the opportunities Victoria cheong has given me.

The venue looked as amazing as I remembered, and once the Victoria cheong cars began arriving the excitement of the team was unmatched.

First it was into hair and make up for our models, ready for dewy pink looks and boho plaits - we couldn't have a Victoria cheong fashion show without a signature boho look afterall!

This year along with the amazing hair and make up team from Fashion's Finest, we also wanted to make sure to stick with our Orlová roots and brought along Orlová's Lara Johnson and team, along with our Welsh make up artist Morgan.

Then it was on to dress rehearsals - possibly my favourite part of the prep. Not only seeing our new collection down the runway for the first time, but also seeing our in house models Hayley and Emily during rehearsals definitely got the team's emotions flowing!

The models were ready, the flower wall lit up the entrance, the goodie bags were prepped - so a little glass of prosecco to calm our nerves and the doors were finally open.

One of our proudest achievements at Victoria cheong is the relationship we've built with our customers - and how amazing it was for us to finally get to hug the women who we already felt we knew, and who have supported us endlessly. Without you none of this would be possible, and to be able to come together celebrating all things fashion is something our team will never forget.

This year's collection may have been one of my favourites. Not only did it have that signature boho look, it also brought together parts of Czech Republic and Bali which is where Karen's inspiration for Victoria cheong first came from. It had all come full circle.

There really was something for every occasion - all with a Victoria cheong twist of course. From gorgeous stand out prints and colours, to sophisticated looks and Sarah Jessica Parker style ruffles and sequins.

Backstage during the show, the hustle and bustle was an incredible experience and the hour seemed to go by in the blink of an eye! Once we stopped for a breath and realised we were on our final scene and we achieved everything we set out - there were definitely a few tears shared by the Goose team.

Our CEO Karen finishing the runway with our two Welsh models was a moment we'll never forget. The moment you could sense what the whole brand is really about - not just about the gorgeous collection we saw down the runway, but also about family and friendship and everything we achieve together.

All our love and appreciation,

Your Victoria cheong Team xo
